Single size pattern for a bodice with partial boning. Fits a 2XL - the bust measurement is 48" and the waist measurement is 40", but due to the boning and the nature of a historical-style bodice (i.e. a gap in the back is okay), it can fit several inches larger. This is not a reduction garment (i.e. a corset), but it will shape you. It is easily alterable for measurements a few inches smaller or larger. There are two side seams and a pair of bust darts on this two-piece pattern; the front is cut on the fold and you could make it a curved seam if you need more bust and less waist. The straps are entirely off the shoulder Pattern and general instructions included. It's a simple garment, but it's best if you have some experience with boning and lining. (I have included some helpful links for those who do not.) Options for both regular and extra boning are included, and flatlining with a strong fabric is highly recommended. Suggested bone lengths are included. Yardage: 1 yd per layer (1 yd fashion fabric, 1 yd lining, 1 yd flatlining if you want that, etc.) Notions: Grommets (pattern suggests 22, original was made with 14), cord for lacing Bodice in pictures 2, 3, & 4 was made with this pattern and the model was 48"/41" in bust/waist. Bodice in pictures 5, 6, & 7 was a size Small that I made first and tried on myself - I am definitely a Medium/Large, but pictures are given to show how long the bodice is and how the straps act. (This is not a historically accurate pattern, but rather a bodice of the style favored at ren faires with off-the-shoulder straps similar to an 1860s evening bodice. You could probably use it for an early Victorian bodice, but the darts aren't correct and it's got a higher waist, so you'd have to lengthen it. This was not designed to go over a corset.) This pattern was made and last updated in 2017. Please message me if you have found errors or have suggestions for improvement.
