Based on the MOS 6502 microprocessor—the same one used in the Apple II—the remote features an LCD display, numeric keypad, and function buttons. It is a 'learning' remote control, able to record and replay IR signal patterns from other proprietary remotes. A serial interface on the underside allows it to connect to a computer, and each button is programmable
